What is the relationship between mindfulness and self awareness?

Self awareness and mindfulness are essentially the same thing. They both require you to be present in the current moment, in a calm and controlled state.


Comment on the Body Scan technique.

I found the body scan quite interesting and extremly relaxing. By focusing on one part of the body I noticed things that I don't normally do. For examply while focusing on my head, I noticed sensation in my ears as they gently touched the pillow. I can't really recall the last time I've "felt" my ears, so that was unique. I also found it interesting that once I began to focus on another part of my body, I did not notice any of the sensations I experienced earlier on (ears touching pillow).


What did you take away from the "MyEmotions are Not Me" section?

I found this section quite enlightening. I even found a sense of relief in it. This simple change between "I am angry" to "I feel angry", reminds us that emotions are something we experience as humans. Emotions are apart of what makes us human. but it doesn't define who we ware.
