When programming, what are some of your triggers? What causes a disproportionate emotional response?
In regards to coding I don't think I have any triggers that I am aware of nor do I get overly emotional. I do find that if I can't figure something out I can become quite frusturated, but once I step away from the computer or start working on something else the frusturation goes away.
How did you find the Siberian North Railroad exercise(Stop, Breath, Notice, Reflect, Respond)?
In dealing with a few particular people in my life I can become immediately triggered in certain situations. Taking a few breaths before responding isn't a new idea to me, but it is easier said then done, especially when triggered. I was intrigued
by the following comment.
“Everybody wants to be happy. This person thinks acting this way will make him happy, in some way.”
Excerpt From: Tan, Chade-Meng. “Search Inside Yourself: The Unexpected Path to Achieving Success, Happiness (and World Peace).” iBooks.
As I found the above comment to allow me to really put myself in the other person's shoes, and truly see things from there perspective. I plan to keep this statement present in my mind throughout the rest of my life.
